Tideways is looking for an experienced software developer to join our team as a Developer Relations Engineer, working directly with and for our customers.
Your primary responsibility will be to turn complex technical knowledge into clear, practical, and accessible content. Drawing on your senior-level development experience, you will research, understand, and explain topics related to PHP performance, profiling, and operations - with a slight focus on Magento 2 or Shopware 6 ecosystems.
You will expand Tideways expertise in these areas and share it with our customers and the wider PHP community through in-depth blog posts, technical guides, and direct customer communication and workshops. You will be instrumental for us in improving the quality, depth, reach, and frequency of our technical content while ensuring that even highly complex performance issues are explained in a way that is easy to understand and act upon.
This is a role for a senior software developer who is comfortable investigating unfamiliar technical problems, quickly developing a deep understanding of them, and communicating the results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Your experience gives you the technical credibility to solve difficult problems; your ability to explain them simply is what makes you successful in this role.
About Us
We develop and sell the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product Tideways. Our software provides application performance management, exception tracking and profiling functionality for PHP applications and is used by over 700 customers worldwide.
What we offer

- Almost fully remote work (residency in Germany required), 3-4 on-site events in Bonn every year
- Salary between 60,000 and 85,000 based on experience
- Summer hours: work 80% in June, July, and August and get paid 100%.
- Daycare costs for licensed/registered daycare providers are paid on top of salary
- Flexible work hours, 30-40 hours per week possible
