Tasks

Your role

As Growth Marketing Manager – Automation you own the automated systems that carry a user from first signup through activation to expansion – and the CRM and AI infrastructure underneath them. Our growth model is self-service and low-touch by design. That only works if the machine behind it is genuinely good.

HubSpot sits at the centre of that machine, connected to product usage data, billing and our web and trial funnel. Your job is to make it do more, do it automatically, and do it with AI agents built natively into the flow – not bolted on as an afterthought.

We are deliberately open on the shape of this role. There are two ways to be excellent at it, and we will build the role around whichever one you bring.

What you will do – the core

• Own our marketing and sales automation stack, with HubSpot (Marketing + Sales Hub) at the centre and clean connections to product, billing, website and trial funnel.
• Design, build and continuously improve automated journeys across the whole lifecycle: trial onboarding, activation nudges, lead scoring and routing, upsell and cross-sell, win-back and churn prevention.
• Replace manual processes with automation – every recurring task a human does today is a candidate, in marketing and in sales.
• Build AI agents into the funnel natively: qualification, enrichment, routing, response drafting, content generation. Not just AI features inside HubSpot.
• Keep our data trustworthy: lifecycle stages, attribution and product-usage signals flowing reliably between systems.
• Measure what you build – every journey has a metric, a baseline and an iteration plan.
• Work closely with Sales, Product, Growth Analytics and eCommerce, and make their work easier by removing manual steps from it.

Two possible focus areas – pick yours

You should be strong in one of these and comfortable in the other. Tell us in your application which one is yours.

Focus A – Technical / AI Automation

• You architect HubSpot rather than just operate it: data model, custom objects and properties, APIs, webhooks, integrations.
• You build automations beyond HubSpot too – with workflow tools (n8n, Make, Zapier) and with LLM and agent frameworks.
• You are comfortable with APIs, JSON and enough Python or JavaScript to ship something yourself instead of queueing behind engineering.
• You have already built working agentic automations, not just prototyped with a chat interface.

Focus B – Lifecycle & Content Automation

• You own the content inside the journeys: onboarding series, activation emails, in-product messaging, nurture and reactivation tracks.
• You write German copy that sounds like a person wrote it, not a workflow – and you use AI to produce more of it, faster, without losing that.
• You design journeys around real user behaviour and know which message at which moment actually moves the metric.
• You are relentless about testing subject lines, timing, triggers and sequencing.

Requirements

Who we are looking for

• Several years in marketing and sales automation, lifecycle marketing, marketing ops or CRM – ideally in B2B SaaS with a self-service or product-led motion.
• Deep, hands-on HubSpot experience: workflows, custom properties and objects, lists, lifecycle stages, reporting. You know where its limits are and how to work around them.
• Clear strength in one of the two focus areas above and solid working knowledge of the other.
• Genuine curiosity about AI agents and automation – you have already built things with LLMs, not only read about them.
• Analytical and structured, with a low tolerance for manual, repetitive processes.
• Fluent German and English. Our customers are German SMBs and much of the journey content is in German.
• Self-starter who can carry several topics in parallel and finish them.

Optional - nice to have

• Experience integrating product usage data into CRM-driven journeys (PQL scoring, usage-based triggers).
• Experience with data warehouses, reverse ETL or event pipelines.
• Experience migrating or rebuilding a CRM setup rather than only maintaining one.
