Responsibilities


The Test Engineering Team is part of the Technical Order Fulfillment Organization of Keysight in Boeblingen. It has the following main objectives:

  • Development of automated test solutions for new components, products and systems in the domains Photonics / Fiber-Optical communication and High-Speed BERT / AWG.
  • Maintain and improve the test platform and the related IT infrastructure to support the best-in-class execution of NPIs (New Product Introduction).

Our customers are the local Optical Technology center, the local R&D teams, Keysight Labs and R&D teams worldwide and the Keysight Service Centers.

As engineering manager for Test Solutions and Test Platform, you lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, and you are a key contributor for successful product and technology introductions.

Your assignment includes:

  • Leading and developing the engineering team along the product lifecycle, including test engineers for Photonics and High-Speed digital and SW engineers for platform development & tools, IT infrastructure and Data Analytics.
  • Own KPIs like Test Time / Reliability / robustness, Test Cost, Test Process yield.
  • Facilitate Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions in Cross-Functional teams
  • Act as partner for manufacturing teams and R&D teams, provide the right skills long-term.
  • Provide innovative test solutions during component / product process development, qualification, which ensure scaling from prototype to volume production.
  • Introducing tools, automation, and software-driven manufacturing concepts and solutions.
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives, translating technology roadmaps into executable engineering plans.
  • Building a strong engineering culture focused on technical excellence, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications


  • M. Sc. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, photonics, physics, or a related technical field.
  • Several years of experience in optical, electro‑optical, semiconductor, or high‑frequency technology development or manufacturing, or in Technical IT infrastructure environments
  • Proven people‑leadership experience leading engineering teams in a high‑tech environment.
  • Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas: measurement technology, data analytics, SW design, SW development tool chain, IT infrastructure
  • Experience owning process and product quality over the full product lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting product introductions and technology transfer to manufacturing sites.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing process development, yield management, reliability, and quality methodologies.
  • Ability to operate effectively across global, cross‑site engineering and manufacturing networks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills across disciplines, cultures, and seniority levels.
  • Fluent in English and German
