As we continue to grow, we are looking for a full-time Head of Finance to join us as soon as possible. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for the further development of our finance function in Germany and Europe and create the financial structures and decision-making foundations for L1VE’s next phase of growth.
Your Role
As Head of Finance, you will act as a strategic partner to our CFO in New York and the executive team. You will translate the overarching finance strategy into scalable finance, controlling and reporting structures, as well as robust planning and management models.
You will combine strategic foresight with strong execution skills: you will develop financial models and scenarios, evaluate business models, investments, partnerships and growth options, and make opportunities, risks and economic implications transparent to management.
In this role, you will work closely with the CFO, the executive team, functional departments and internal and external finance partners. A particular focus will be on international legal entity and intercompany structures, licensing and revenue-share models, as well as the further development of KPI, forecasting and reporting processes.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement L1VE’s finance architecture for Germany and Europe, with a focus on growth, profitability, transparency and international scalability
- Own integrated financial planning, budgeting, business cases, financial models, forecasts and scenarios as a basis for strategic decision-making
- Build and further develop relevant KPI systems for Technology, Commercial, Product, Marketing and Sales
- Evaluate business models, investments, partnerships, licensing models and growth options, including their financial opportunities, risks and implications
- Support financing rounds, investor readiness, due diligence and the preparation of strategic transactions in close coordination with the CFO
- Manage and further develop management, investor and partner reporting based on reliable and auditable data and processes
- Coordinate interfaces with Finance Administration, Accounting, Tax, Audit, Legal and other external finance partners
- Further develop finance, reporting and governance structures, as well as the systems and processes supporting them
Your profile
- At least seven years of relevant professional experience in finance, including several years in a strategically responsible finance role – ideally combining experience in a demanding consulting or Big Four environment with hands-on experience in a startup, scale-up or growth company
- Experience building scalable finance structures and working with integrated financial planning, business planning, financial modelling, forecasting and management reporting
- Strong knowledge of controlling, business performance management, governance, risk management and the evaluation of business models, investments and growth options
- Understanding of German commercial, tax and corporate law requirements, as well as experience managing external professional advisors
- Ideally, experience in the media, entertainment, sports rights, streaming, subscription or digital B2C environment, including licensing and revenue-share models
- Experience with financing processes, investor reporting, due diligence or M&A is an advantage
- Ability to structure complex financial topics clearly and act as a strategic sparring partner to the CFO, executive team and functional departments
- Strong analytical and entrepreneurial thinking, a high degree of independence and a strong sense of ownership
- Confident and practical use of AI tools in finance; you can demonstrate with specific examples which AI-supported solutions you have implemented and what additional value they created
- Excellent written and spoken German and English, as well as confident use of finance, reporting and collaboration tools
