The Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences (ISAS) e.V. develops analytical methods for health research. Through its innovations, it helps improve the prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The institute’s goal is to advance personalized therapy. To this end, ISAS combines expertise from biology, chemistry, computer science, medicine, pharmacology, and physics. At our institute, we are seeking candidates for the IT Services team:
IT Systems Engineer (m/f/d)
Your responsibilities:
- Installation, administration, and further development of a workload manager for a GPU-based AI environment
- Provision of open LLMs via API interfaces and preparation of usage data for billing purposes
- Administration, maintenance, and further development of operating systems, directory services, and backup systems
- Collaboration in the planning of deployed applications and operating systems
- First- and second-level support for the software in use
- Creation and continuous updating of operational and user documentation
Your Profile:
- A completed degree (university of applied sciences/bachelor’s/master’s) in computer science or systems engineering, or comparable knowledge
- Several years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or system administration
- Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems, container virtualization (e.g., Docker), and shell scripting
- Good knowledge of workload management (e.g., Slurm)
- Very strong expertise in IT security regulations and data protection
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 and/or BSI Basic Protection
- German at the C1 level and very good written and spoken English

This full-time position is available immediately and is generally suitable for part-time work. The position is initially limited to two years and is compensated in accordance with TV-L pay grade 11.
