Senior Technical Lead - Software Engineering Lead
Full-Time · Remote · 40 Hours/Week · Long-Term
About the Role
Hands-on technical leadership across multiple projects, working with developers, project owners and management. Understand complex systems, improve architecture and own reliable delivery. This is not administrative project management.
Responsibilities
- Own parallel projects/workstreams and technical priorities.
- Lead/mentor developers; improve standards, code review and development workflows.
- Review architecture, code, tests, pull requests and implementations; turn business needs into executable plans.
- Identify risks, architectural weaknesses and blockers early; solve complex problems and recover delayed, incomplete or weak work.
- Independently validate requirements before approval; ensure testing, documentation and production/release/deployment readiness.
- Resolve production incidents; review performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability and security.
- Explain risks, blockers and recommendations; build accountable, high-quality engineering.
Technical & Leadership Experience
At least 6 years of professional software/systems experience with substantial hands-on development. Strong experience in several of: Node.js, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, REST APIs/integrations, Git/pull requests, Docker, cloud/deployment, architecture/system design, automated/manual tests and production monitoring/troubleshooting. Comparable depth is welcome.
Required: developer leadership/supervision, engineer reviews, architectural decisions and ownership across projects/outcomes. Guide different experience levels. Contribution and judgement matter more than titles.
Preferred: e-commerce, ERP/business operations, product data, supplier integrations, inventory, order management, APIs, automation or AI-supported workflows.
How We Work
Be hands-on, structured, reliable, independent and communicative. Support developers; uphold quality. Own difficult issues; disclose risks, uncertainties and mistakes. Protect confidentiality, propose improvements early and focus on solutions, not blame. Build properly, not just quickly.
Working Conditions & Paid Evaluation
Fully remote, full-time: 40 working hours per week; serious, long-term collaboration.
Two-month paid evaluation: USD 2 per hour actually worked. Both sides assess projects, systems, methods and expectations through real technical responsibilities.
Evaluation: judgement, implementation/review quality, problem-solving, code/tests, architecture, leadership, reliability, delivery, communication, documentation, risks/blockers, independent validation, ownership and consistency.
After successful evaluation, compensation will be reviewed and adjusted based on demonstrated performance, technical depth, responsibilities and contribution. Strong performance may lead to earlier review.
Working Time & Hubstaff
Hubstaff is mandatory throughout collaboration; tracking requirements/settings will be explained before work starts. Hours alone do not determine performance: quality, technical value, reliability, progress, problem-solving and results during recorded time matter. Efficient, high-quality work is valued.
What We Offer
Remote, long-term opportunity, real responsibility, influence on architecture/standards/processes, complex business systems/integrations, clear expectations and direct management collaboration. Short decision paths; strong contribution brings recognition, growing responsibility and potential for central leadership as the company expands.
Application & Selection
Apply via Hubstaff Talent with CV/profile, time zone, availability, development years, strongest technologies and leadership/review/architecture experience.
Provide TWO challenging projects: system, your responsibility, team size, technologies, challenge, your implementation/decisions/solutions and result for EACH.
Optional authorised portfolio, GitHub/code references. Never submit confidential material, unauthorised private repositories or another company's proprietary code.
Selection assesses real experience, personal contribution and the above criteria. Shortlisted candidates may receive realistic software, architecture, debugging, delivery or production assessments.
Build, improve and take ownership.
