About The Role The Cloud Platform Architect (m/w/d) is a pivotal role within netgo's cloud team, responsible for the strategic development and technical leadership of the company's multi-tenant cloud platforms based on OpenStack and VMware technologies. This position involves designing, evolving, and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions that support the company's managed services and client requirements. As the highest technical authority in the cloud engineering team, the Cloud Platform Architect will shape the future architecture, introduce innovative cloud services, and ensure the platform's robustness and compliance with industry standards. The role offers the flexibility of 100% remote work within Germany, allowing for a balanced integration of professional and personal commitments. Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification, complemented by extensive experience in designing and operating complex cloud and data center infrastructures. A minimum of three years of experience specifically in designing multi-tenant platforms is required. Expertise in OpenStack and VMware, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and vCloud Director, is essential. Candidates should possess deep knowledge of data center network architecture, enterprise storage solutions, and security concepts. Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and APIs, along with strong communication skills to articulate complex architectures, are vital. Fluency in German and English is mandatory, and relevant certifications in cloud technologies will be considered advantageous. Responsibilities

Architect and continually enhance the multi-tenant cloud platforms based on OpenStack and VMware, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Design comprehensive data center, network, and security architectures, including backbone infrastructure, firewalls, and network segmentation. Integrate network, security, storage, and compute components to create cohesive and efficient cloud environments. Develop platform blueprints, operational concepts, and scaling models to support growth and evolving client needs. Perform sizing and capacity planning for compute, storage, and network resources to optimize performance and cost-efficiency. Design innovative cloud services and contribute to expanding the company's service portfolio. Evaluate new technologies and assess their suitability for platform integration to maintain technological leadership. Support pre-sales activities through architecture design, capacity planning, and effort estimation, dedicating approximately 10-15% of work time. Create and maintain detailed architecture documentation, standards, and operational guidelines. Act as a technical sparring partner for engineers, consultants, and team leads, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices. Participate in on‑call duty rotations within the team to ensure platform stability and rapid incident response.
