About the role
As a Machine Learning Engineer - MLOps & Platform Engineering (m/f/d), you will develop and operate our central machine learning platform built on Google Cloud Platform. Together with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, you will create the technical foundation required to bring AI and machine learning solutions into production in an efficient, secure, and scalable way.
Your day-to-day work
- You work as part of an interdisciplinary team on the further development of our production ML platform based on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- You design, develop, and implement robust and scalable platform components, including machine learning pipelines, monitoring solutions, and governance mechanisms across the entire model lifecycle
- You develop production-ready Python libraries and ensure a sustainable and maintainable development environment through best practices, modern software architectures, and high quality standards
- You implement modern MLOps practices and CI/CD pipelines and ensure the stable, secure, and scalable operation of our AI systems
- You be responsible for the quality, performance, scalability, and security of our platform and continuously drive improvements
- You support machine learning models throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial conception and deployment to monitoring, maintenance, and further development
You’re a great fit for this role if …
- You have several years of experience in developing and operationalizing data and AI products
- You own strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GKE
- You bring solid Python expertise and have experience developing scalable, robust, and tested applications as well as Python packages
- You have solid knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, and modern tools such as Terraform and dbt
- You understand the complete machine learning model lifecycle and can confidently support it from experimentation and training through deployment, monitoring, and retraining
- You have a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented way of working and communicate fluently in English; German language skills are a plus
