What you'll bring:

• Solid foundational skills in software engineering, with proficiency in Python and hands-on experience in at least one cloud-native development environment.

• Strong experience of AI and ML concepts, including familiarity with large language models, machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn), and API-based AI services.

• Proficiency in system design for scale, resiliency, and fault tolerance is required.

• Experience with data pipelines, MLOps concepts, or AI/ML model integration in application contexts.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team, follow engineering standards, and take ownership of assigned tasks with a strong sense of accountability.

• Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset — you actively seek feedback, learn from experience, and are motivated to grow quickly in a high-pace environment.

• Good understanding of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with tools such as Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and customer-facing settings.

• An interest in or early exposure to SAP AI technologies such as SAP AI Core or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is a plus.

What you'll build

Join our growing Industry AI team in Munich and help shape the future of Autonomous Asset Management, transforming how asset-intensive industries manage, maintain, and optimize their critical assets through AI.

You will build innovative, scalable AI solutions that enable smarter decisions, more efficient operations, and greater autonomy across the asset lifecycle.

• Build next-generation Industry AI solutions that combine agentic AI, intelligent automation, and advanced optimization to address complex asset management challenges.

• Develop reusable AI capabilities and templates that provide a scalable foundation for innovation across customers and industries.

• Take end-to-end technical ownership, from solution design and engineering to deployment, continuous improvement, and long-term evolution.

• Translate industry expertise into intelligent solutions, connecting enterprise data, business context, and AI-driven decision-making to deliver measurable customer value.

• Drive innovation from concept to reality, collaborating with product management, FDE delivery teams, and industry experts to turn emerging AI technologies into enterprise-ready solutions.

You will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of enterprise-grade Industry AI, take significant technical ownership, and help define how autonomous asset management becomes a reality for leading global enterprises.

In this role, you will:

• You'll independently design and architect scalable, AI-native application systems and components, including advanced RAG pipelines and multi-agent workflows. Evaluation and benchmarking frameworks to measure AI system quality, reliability, and performance are things you'll build and own.

• You'll optimize latency, throughput, and cost efficiency across systems. Observability and SRE practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis, are areas you'll implement and improve.

• You'll partner with platform, data, and AI teams to design robust, production-ready solutions and improve system integration. System scalability, resilience, and maintainability are areas you'll continuously work to strengthen.

• Work within customer projects and cross-functional delivery teams, learning to understand business processes, technical landscapes, and customer needs.

• Support prototyping, testing, and iteration of AI solutions in customer environments, adapting to feedback and evolving requirements.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and design sessions, actively developing your engineering skills and knowledge.

• Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving deployed solutions to ensure reliability and operational stability.

• Contribute to documentation, reusable components, and engineering best practices to support team productivity and knowledge sharing.

• Demonstrate a proactive learning mindset — staying current with AI/ML developments and applying new techniques and tools to improve solution quality.
