AIT Engineer - Junior

To strengthen our Aerospace & Defence team, we are looking for a Junior AIT Engineer to join projects for a leading international customer in the space industry. The successful candidate will be involved in Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) activities within the Galileo satellite programme, contributing to the development and execution of functional tests, electrical integration, and verification of satellite system performance. Working closely with multidisciplinary technical teams, the candidate will support data analysis, configuration verification, and test result documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements and space industry standards.

Activities

• Support the development and execution of functional tests within satellite Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) programmes.
• Contribute to the review and preparation of technical test specifications.
• Assist in the definition, preparation, development, and execution of test procedures.
• Provide support for electrical integration activities involving satellite systems.
• Process and analyze test data, contributing to the evaluation of results and their presentation to the customer.
• Document verification outcomes and prepare the corresponding test reports.
• Support operational activities related to satellites and onboard instruments.
• Contribute to the analysis of satellite configurations and the preparation of related technical documentation.
• Assist in failure analysis and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) investigations.

Technical Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in functional Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) activities for satellite systems.
• Knowledge of functional testing and verification methodologies applied to satellite systems.
• Familiarity with Telemetry and Telecommand (TM/TC) systems and Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) for satellites and onboard instruments will be considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of satellite communication encryption technologies will be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) standards.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Excellent command of both English and German, at a professional negotiation level.

Contract Terms

• Type: German permanent contract
• Annual Salary: €54,000 – €70,000
• Full-time
• Hybrid work model (based in Germany)
