Working Student Quality (all genders)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
THE WHAT
You support the Quality team in ensuring that production quality remains measurable, documented, and reliable every day. You inspect components, document results, track quality data, and help maintain the standards that allow Blackwave to build safe and reliable aerospace hardware.
You work closely with operators, engineers, and quality specialists on the shop floor and gain hands-on experience with real production processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
THE WHY
Every pressure vessel we build relies on consistent quality standards and accurate inspection results. Quality issues that are detected early are easier, cheaper, and safer to resolve than problems found later.
This role exists to ensure that production quality remains visible, traceable, and actionable. By inspecting parts, documenting findings, and supporting process improvements, you help ensure that every component meets the standards required for aerospace applications.
YOUR IMPACT
You don't just document quality. You help ensure that quality is built into every part we produce.
You ensure:
- all assigned components are inspected and documented without delays
- quality data is maintained accurately and translated into meaningful KPI reporting
- deviations and quality issues are identified and escalated quickly
- inspection results remain traceable and audit-ready
- quality processes become more efficient through continuous improvement
Your tasks in detail and by priority:
Perform inspections on assigned components and ensure all results are documented correctly in the quality control system.
→ Accountability: Every inspection is completed, documented, and traceable.
Track inspection activities, non-conformities, and scrap data while supporting the creation of clear quality reports and KPI overviews.
→ High Performance: Reliable decisions require reliable data.
Identify opportunities to improve inspection routines, documentation, and reporting workflows, and contribute to implementing practical solutions.
→ Playfulness: Small improvements create big results over time.
Collaborate with operators, technicians, and engineers to ensure quality findings are communicated clearly and acted upon quickly.
→ Togetherness: Quality improves when teams solve problems together.
Report quality concerns openly and immediately while helping to maintain transparent communication around non-conformities.
→ Candor: Problems improve only when they are visible.
