A German based Consultancy is seeking a skilled IT Network Engineer to join on a Freelance basis.

Job Summary : The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting our network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house and customer network services, troubleshooting network issues, and optimizing network performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Configure and install various network devices and services.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
Troubleshoot network-related issues and provide technical support.
Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to support overall IT infrastructure.
Develop and implement network policies and procedures to ensure network security and compliance.
Maintain documentation for network configuration, processes, and service records.
Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.

In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.

Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.

Hands-on experience with hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Relevant certifications (, CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.

German & English language skills are required (B2 level minimum)
