The Role
Our client is looking for a PR Manager (agency level equivalent) to join their Communications team and help them drive storytelling to reach target audiences in key European markets, with aspecific focus on Germany.
In this role, you will support the development of their consumer / lifestyle PR strategy and be responsible for its implementation, as well as develop compelling media stories and relationships to relevant media outlets.
Working under the Head of Communications for Europe, you will work closely with the European and GlobalComms team to cut through the noise in mainstream media and create opportunities to creatively position their brands and initiatives.
The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling and is able to distill creative ideas andcomplex stories into compelling narratives. A robust understanding of the media landscapein Germany is essential.
Responsibilities
- Drive implementation of European communications strategy with significant focus on the German market, as well as consumer and lifestyle media
- Proactively develop ideas and opportunities for creative storytelling and support thepress office team with incoming media inquiries
- Establish and nurture relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists
- Collaborate with the wider Marketing / Communications team to identify trends and possible proactive pitches and predict reactive statements as needed
- Coordinate organization and updating of press materials, statements / FAQs etc to team and spokespeople, as well support with development of messaging
- Support event planning and execution in Germany
- Help to maintain their communications calendar and proactively identify relevant events and moments in time they can drive proactive storytelling around
- Drive reporting and measurement for PR activities, including tracking media opportunities and compiling internal reports that showcase their communications work
Your Professional Profile
3-5 years of proven professional experience in communications and media relationsExcellent writing, organizational and communications skillsPrior experience in creative storytelling, media relations and development / implementation of integrated communication campaignsSelf-starter with solid understanding of the media landscape and what makes a good storyStrong understanding of marketing and communications strategies and channelsExperience in consumer and lifestyle driven campaigning is a plusPrior experience in journalism or PR agency / in-house communications experience isa plusOfficial working language is English.
