About the Business DevelopmentTeam :

At eBay, The BusinessDevelopment Team supports seller acquisition and revenue growth infocused category and regional specific strategic areas of thebusiness by delivering relevant inventory supply to themarketplace. The team identifies prospects, positions the value ofeBay’s marketplace and crafts strategic proposals with medium toenterprise sized ecosystem players to extend eBay’s reach. Our goalis to rapidly increase eBay’s footprint, deliver significantbusiness growth for our sellers and offer all the inventory ourbuyers expect.

Business Development is part ofGlobal Seller Excellence, a broader global team that contributesgreatly to the global strategies for new seller acquisition,cross-team business initiatives for new sellers, account managementof 3rd party partnerships delivering new sellers to eBay'smarketplace, and all aspects of engagement for seller connectivity.Global Seller Excellence owns and leads the strategicsupply-focused initiative that works to secure new inventory andwiden exposure across the globe for eBay. TheOpportunity :

A BusinessDevelopment Manager (BDM) will support accelerated growth in one ofour focused category efforts. The ideal candidate will have ledgeneration and sales experience in luxury (watches,handbags, jewelry) or collectibles (trading cards, collectiblescoins, toys, model making) industry and will bepassionate about engaging with prospects and aligning withprospective customers’ goals to solution a need where product makesa solve.

At eBay, BDMs specialize in drivinglead generation and outreach activities related to salesdevelopment and acquisition of new business via prospecting andproposing value pitches to meet prospective seller needs inrelation to listing new inventory using eBay’s platform. Theydevelop new leads and identify new opportunities and handle thesales pipeline efficiently. Activities often include desk researchfor lead generation, targeted telephone prospecting, pitching valueopportunities and positioning the benefits directly to Sellers, andonboarding new Sellers to eBay’s marketplace. They work alongsideSenior BDMs, who are knowledgeable and experienced categoryauthorities focusing on similar acquisition efforts, and incoordination with Lead BDMs, responsible for development andexecution of category acquisition strategy, in collaboration withinternal cross-functional partners.

Someone whoenjoys execution on day-to-day sales processes, meeting andexceeding exciting objectives, and helping customers achieveoutstanding goals will be successful. Detailed success of leadgeneration / prospecting and sales pipeline management will set youup for success. eBay's Business Development team is fast-paced andconstantly evolving. This role will require high levels of activityand task management while driving B2B relationships with Sellers ofgoods that meet eBay’s strategic supply demands.

What you willaccomplish

Identify targets and a network of contacts for both theshort- and long-term acquisition of businesses new to eBay. Throughrunning a significant sales pipeline, providing a constant streamof new inventory to site from such brands & sellers

Own end-to-end pipeline managementand close contracts with new sellers, attend networking events andconventions in Germany and Europe

Report, track and forecast sales activities viaCRM

Analyze pipeline gapsand adjust tactical strategy to meet quarterly goals and objectiveswhere needed

Constantlyinnovate, develop your operating model to keep pace with theconstantly evolving ecommerce and commerce market plus building theteam’s execution and operational capability, this exciting openingwill drive procedural change and business performance

What you willbring :

Around 4 years + of experience in sales, preferably in theluxury or collectibles field

eCommerce & Marketplaces knowledge : a validatedbackground and understanding of the marketplaces / platform market,its competitors and supporting businesses (i.e. listing management;integrators; logistics; customer services) with a clear point ofview on what is required for our partners to succeed in this space.Collectibles and / or Luxury experience is required

Bachelor’s degree in business,administration, or related field

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, nativelanguage skills in German and fluent in Business English

Able to work both independently andas part of a collaborative team, with a range of workingstyles

Results orientedand dedicated to time management, self-motivated andaccountable
