Key Account Manager, Precision Medicine (m/w/d)
About This Job : As a Precision Medicine Account Manager, you are responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with our customers.
You understand patient pathways and healthcare structures, are familiar with our customers' needs, and ensure they are effectively served, aiming to achieve both high customer satisfaction and enhance Astellas' reputation as a reliable partner in oncology while meeting revenue targets.
You are responsible for scientific exchange with key customers, cross-functional regional analysis and processing, and preparing the market for upcoming product launches in relevant therapeutic areas.
You are knowledgeable about targeted therapies and biomarker testing and understand the processes and decision-making pathways among payers, healthcare providers, practitioners, pathologists, and other stakeholders within the respective healthcare structures in both outpatient and clinical settings.
Key Activities for this role :
- Responsible for managing key accounts and healthcare networks at the branch level.
- Developing and implementing strategies for customer retention, market penetration, and revenue growth.
- Identifying business opportunities with existing and potential customers.
- Cultivating and establishing long-term customer relationships on a peer-to-peer basis through personal and digital interactions with a strong scientific focus.
- Conducting customer, competitive, and regional / account analyses with regular, structured feedback to leadership and the brand team.
- Collaborating closely with other sales, market access, marketing, and medical teams to ensure successful market penetration and high customer satisfaction.
- Accountability for achieving sales goals and relevant key performance parameters (e.g., contact rates, customer satisfaction).
Essential Knowledge & Experience :
- Proven professional experience in Key Account Management, preferably in the (gastro-)oncology and / or targeted therapy field.
- Strong scientific understanding and the ability to engage in discussions on an equal footing with oncologists and other scientifically oriented customers.
- Experience in collaborating with other departments such as Marketing, Sales, and Support.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HWG (Heilmittelwerbegesetz - German Medicinal Products Advertising Act) and code of conduct requirements.
- Fluent in German and English
Education / Qualification :
A completed natural science degree or equivalent.

- This position is field based in the Bayer region and up to 100% travel is expected in line with your role
