The Team

Theprimary mission of our Treasury team is to ensure Zalando'sfinancial health and sustainability by meticulously managing andoptimizing its funding and risk. We are dedicated to developing andimplementing advanced strategies that ensure sufficient cash flowand resources are available to meet Zalando's operational needs,growth initiatives, and investmentopportunities.

Our team is committed toidentifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, includingmarket volatility, interest rate fluctuations, and credit risks,that could impact our financial position and operationalcapabilities.

Through proactive financialmanagement, strategic planning, and leveraging data insights, weaim to enhance Zalando's financial flexibility and resilience. Ourmission encompasses fostering strong relationships with financialinstitutions, investors, and internal stakeholders to support thecompany's strategic objectives and to promote a culture offinancial awareness and risk sensitivity across theorganization.

TheRole

As the Director of Treasury,you will represent Treasury at Zalando holistically and for theentire Zalando Group as well as all legal entities, including theparent, Zalando SE. Your role is to oversee Capital Structure &Funding, Liquidity Management & Investments, and RiskManagement towards Zalando internal customers such as managementboard, supervisory board, and audit committee as well as externalstakeholders, including all our partnerbanks.

You will lead all aspects of Treasury,including financing, cash management, investment oversight,financial risk management, and banking relationships. Yourstrategic financial insights and leadership will support Zalando'sgrowth, sustainability, and profitabilitygoals.

  • Develop short-, medium- andlong-term financing strategy, build up and maintain closerelationships with international financialinstitutions.
  • Proactively conceive andimplement own initiatives that align with Group Strategy, steertreasury related projects and initiatives such as pursuing arating.
  • Lead negotiations with financialinstitutions and push for healthypartnership.
  • Direct supervision of a team of 8employees and mentoring teamleaders.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOUPOSSESS

  • A proven leader in treasurywith experience in risk management, financing, cash management, andcapital markets within large-scaleorganizations.
  • A demonstrated success in thetreasury functions of multinational companies, with a deepunderstanding of international finance andoperations.
  • Expertise in scaling treasurystrategies in companies with revenues exceeding EUR 2billion.
  • A background in fast-paced,growth-oriented environments, ideally in publiccompanies.
  • Fluency in English, with Germanlanguage skills as a plus, adept at communicating complex financialstrategies.
  • Extensive leadership experience inconsumer, data-focused, and technology-driven internationalbusinesses.
  • A customer-centric mindset, knowhow to put yourself in your client's shoes.
  • Anexperienced leader of leaders who is fostering collaboration andpassionate about designing, managing, and developingteams.
  • A comfort with a flexible, lessstructured environment where new ideas and processes are(re-)designed, optimized andimplemented.
