About the Role
The Technical Project Lead (TPL) is responsible for leading the cross functional program or project engineering team to successfully develop and industrialize automotive electronic products achieving or exceeding project and Magna expectations. As required by the project, the TPL shall act as the key customer interface for all technical / engineering topics in alignment with the Program Manager
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the work of global team members working on software, hardware and mechanical product teams standardization and reuse through Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) through coordination and leadership of technical product team
- Lead and maintain engineering change management, configuration management and engineering risk management activities
- Identify reusable product units, opportunities for synergy, convince all stakeholders, quantify benefit
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers, validation engineers and system / feature function engineers within Magna product development teams
- Monitor and drive defect management to closure and lead the team in all disciplined root cause analysis efforts (both technical and systemic)
- Support customer presentations & act as the primary product interface to customers on technical topics
- Ensures engineering targets (quality, delivery timing, performance, product BOM Costs, etc.) for product deliverables are met on-time
- Direct the efforts of the product team in the development and production release of engineering deliverables in compliance with product development process and customer expectations
- Assess and plan ED activities and determines DV readiness
- Prioritizes engineering activities, deliverables & actions in order to achieve engineering timing
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts, researches, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to products, processes and programs
- Provide support for RFI and RFQ meetings with customers, align responses and prepare and maintain communication responses.
- Ability to travel when necessary to product development locations
