Master Thesis in Process Science USP : High Cell Density Intermediates and N-1 Perfusion (m / w / d)
Topical background and tasks
The development of high cell density (HCD) process intermediates, to significantly shorten and de-risk the cell expansion, and N-1 perfusion enabled intensified fed-batch processes with an immense potential for streamlining and optimizing biomanufacturing processes.
This thesis aims to investigate the implementation of HCD process intermediates and N-1 perfusion strategies to establish an intensified fed-batch processes for the production of therapeutic proteins.
- Development of robust HCD process intermediates
- Integration of N-1 perfusion-based cell banking
- Implementation of intensified fed-batch processes
- Optimization of process parameters
- Evaluation of process impact
This is important to us
- Degree in biotechnology, technical biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, chemistry, biology, biosciences or similar
- Experience in working with cell culture
- Knowledge of and interest in fed-batch and perfusion processes desirable
- Quick comprehension, analytical and solution-oriented thinking
- Independent and structured way of working and team spirit
- Confident handling of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Combination of internship plus thesis with a total of 6-9 months
- Entry possible from July 24
