This market-leading hotel group has a fantastic opportunity available in Galway for a proven hotel sales dynamo. The Cluster Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for devising sales strategy, maximising sales potential and achieving revenue budgets across two properties. Reporting to the hotel General Managers and the Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, key responsibilities will include :

  • Plan and direct day to day operation of the sales & marketing function to ensure maximum revenue & profitability and provide potential and existing clients with the highest level of sales service
  • Plan & implement annual marketing expenditure per hotel focussing on overall business
  • Execute quarterly activity plans to create focus for the team and adapt activity to support business needs of each hotel
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key corporate clients through ongoing account management
  • Perform day to day sales activity : meetings, contract / rate negotiation, site inspections, trade events, client entertainment, overseas sales trips
  • Develop and nurture client relationships within the small meetings segment
  • Report monthly on account performance to GMs and Central Office
  • Utilisation of Alkimii CRM for logging all sales activity & measurement of KPI’s
  • Weekly & monthly monitoring of GDS business and completion of all relevant RFP’s
  • Input to hotel pricing strategy and forecasting with GMs and Revenue Managers
  • Manage hotels advertising & promotional campaigns
  • Manage online marketing & brand website through content development and continually drive customers direct to this sales channel
  • Attend Group consumer and trade promotions as required and schedule relevant individual promotions for the hotel
  • Production of hotel printed promotional material
  • Provide assistance to other dept teams with necessary sales & marketing activity
  • Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis
  • Maintain awareness of main market developments and other factors that influence business
  • Develop a customer-centric sales focus across the hotel team

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience as Sales Manager within a quality hotel establishment, brand experience an advantage. Will be a creative thinker, sales-focused with an outgoing personality who can drive new relationships as well as maintain existing ones. Must demonstrate proven people management skills as well as effective communication skills with the ability to provide clear written reports.
