Installation Technician, ID Install

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.
We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for Installation Technicians. This is an entry level position and a unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast paced data centers in the world. The Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data center infrastructure. As part of that team the Installation Technician will be primarily tasked with installing cabling and new racks within the data centers.

We are looking for highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn and upskill. You must be able to perform repetitive tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices. You will be working in a team environment and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.

Key job responsibilities
Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
Managing inventory of related materials.
Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.

A day in the life
Physical requirements:
This position has a physical component and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.

- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience in networking

- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience with Data Center cabling and best practices
