Job Description

As a Visual Merchandiser you are responsible to deliver smooth operations to facilitate an inspirational customer environment in your store. Your contribution will actively drive sales & profit through you and your teams well executed store administrative and logistic commercial operations to enable an easy to shop and WOW store environment.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet and strike up conversations with the customers, aiming to give them a friendly, easy and inspiring shopping experience
  • Communicate with customers courteously and promptly in-person and via phone
  • Share relevant and detailed product information, such as fabric types, washing instructions, garment fits, etc
  • Promote loss prevention and safety through customer service and established & Other Stories policies and procedures in partnership with store leadership (management) team to guarantee employee and customer safety
  • Lead by example and educate the staff about our customer service standards

Commerciality

  • Ensure that the visual presentation and styling are accurate to maximize sales and create an inspirational shopping experience for our customers
  • Actively work in a commercial way to maximize sales
  • Ensure garment presentation and garment care is executed and consistent throughout the store per & Other Stories guidelines
  • Prepare the Kick-off with the leadership management team in order to ensure that the store is ready for Season Start from a visual perspective
  • Plan and execute all campaign set-ups, concept upkeep, activities and promotions
  • Ensure that orders for display materials and supplies are placed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of display materials
  • Keep the visual room clean and organized
  • Check the material arriving to the store in a timely fashion, confirming quantities, condition, etc
  • Minimize security and safety risks

    • Leadership

  • Train, coach and give daily feedback on merchandise presentation and signage to the VM Team and store staff.
  • Work as a team player with a willingness to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations
  • Support team with in-store routines when necessary
  • Be straightforward and open minded, including when receiving and sharing feedback.

    Competences

  • Strong visual merchandising skills and the ability to drive business through creativity, fashion consciousness and commerciality
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Ability to provide day to day visual training and guidance through & Other Stories shared values
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently while still working within a team environment
  • Ability to provide feedback in a constructive and professional way
  • Must be able to work with hand and power operated tools and lift to execute display set-ups
  • Ability to work flexible hours and extended hours at times
  • May be required to travel to support other stores
