Your role
The University is committed to including sustainability in its operations and functioning to become a sustainable university in all its aspects. Initiatives and actions have been launched not only to raise awareness, communicate, and inform university staff and students, but also to integrate sustainability into its operational processes (building management, energy consumption, procurement, mobility, waste management, campus life and societal commitment).
To sustain the ecological transition of the University and its activities, we are looking for a Project Manager in Sustainability to assist the Chief Sustainable Officer in identifying and managing projects aimed at further anchoring the University in a sustainable operational management. The Project Manager will also be instrumental in engaging the University community and communicating about sustainability projects and activities.
To support the Chief Sustainability Officer in driving the University's sustainability operational strategy, the Project Manager will play a key role in the following areas :
- Co-develop and co-implement sustainability projects under the supervision of the Chief Sustainability Officer
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the University's sustainability roadmap
- Lead engagement projects and activities aimed at mobilising the University community across all campuses
- Advise and assist members of the University community who wish to design and implement sustainability-related initiatives in their respective areas of activity
- Support the internal and external communication of sustainability-related projects and initiatives, in coordination with the relevant internal actors
- Promote awareness and visibility of the University's sustainability efforts
- Develop and manage a network of internal stakeholders (including sustainability ambassadors, student delegation, student associations, Student department, academic and administrative staff…)
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners (such as NGOs and other associations, sustainability network)
- Organise sustainability-focused events and activities on campus to foster dialogue, participation and action
Your profile
Master's degree or equivalent through professional experienceStrong interest in, and sensitivity to, sustainability and the ecological transition. Relevant certifications, training, or professional experience in these areas are a strong assetProven experience in project management, ideally within complex or multi-stakeholder environments (academic, public sector, NGOs, etc.)Strong organisational and planning skills :Attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAutonomy and ability to prioritiseProficiency of MS office suiteExperience or strong interest in communication and outreach, e.g. (e.g. writing, basic video shooting, graphic design, web editing …)Ability and motivation to support community-building efforts (e.g. student groups, internal networks, partners)Proactive and curious mindset, with a strong sense of initiativeCapacity to propose solutions and adapt in a dynamic environmentExcellent interpersonal skills : engaging, comfortable speaking with diverse stakeholders, good and attentive listener, able to bring people together and to build consensusNatural team player with capacity to contribute to collective outcomesKnowledge of the associative ecosystem in Luxembourg is a plusFluency in English and French is required.
