Automotive Operations Business Unit Leader
Our client are seeking an Operations Business Unit Leader to join their team.
Within the company, the Operations Business Unit Leader is in charge of managing a business unit's day-to-day activities and long-term goals.
All facets of the business unit, including production, quality assurance, supply chain, logistics, process optimisation, and team leadership, are managed in this function.
The ideal applicant will promote operational excellence, guarantee effective procedures, and help the company accomplish its overarching business objectives.
Your Main Responsibilities :
- Create and implement an operational strategy for the business unit that is in line with the overarching goals of the organisation to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
- Manage the business unit's daily operations, making sure that supply chain coordination, effective production, and high standards of quality are all met.
Process optimisation can increase output, cut expenses, and boost customer satisfaction.
Develop, lead, and mentor a high-achieving team while cultivating a climate of accountability, cooperation, and ongoing improvement.
Review performance on a regular basis and offer advice on professional growth.
- Oversee the business unit's financial performance, planning, and forecasting. Make sure cost-control procedures are followed, and look for ways to save expenses while increasing revenue.
- In order to improve overall efficiency, cut waste, and streamline operations, apply Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement approaches.
- Closely collaborate with supply chain, finance, sales, and other business unit leaders to guarantee cross-functional alignment and efficient communication.
Work together on projects that affect several departments inside the company.
- Set the business unit's key performance indicators (KPIs) and track advancement against them. Utilise data-driven analysis to guide initiatives for continuous improvement and make well-informed decisions.
- Verify that all operating procedures adhere to internal quality control procedures, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Take remedial action as necessary.
- Uphold a strong customer focus by fulfilling expectations, managing escalations skilfully, and guaranteeing prompt delivery of goods and services.
- Recognise and control operational risks for the business unit, such as equipment malfunctions, supply chain disruptions, and compliance problems.
Create backup plans in order to reduce hazards.
Your Qualification and Requirements :
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, operations management, or a similar discipline. The ideal degree is a master's degree.
- Demonstrated operations management experience (10+ years), at least 5+ of which were spent in a leadership capacity.
- Thorough understanding of supply chain management, operating procedures, and methods for process optimisation.
- Proven background using Six Sigma, Lean, or other methods for process improvement.
- Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership abilities, with a history of leading and growing high-achieving groups.
- Excellent financial sense and background in budgeting and performance management.
- Outstanding analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities, with the capacity to motivate and impact change throughout the company.
- Familiarity with industry-specific laws, standards of quality, and obligations for compliance.
