Senior DevOps Engineer

A DevOps Engineer at Verimatrix is responsible for the creation, deployment and operations of a large product suite that enables content protection and security for video delivered via satellite, cable or the Internet.  The DevOps Engineer leads with his / her teammates to build, test, deliver, and monitor high-performing, scalable, high-quality products.

In this role, the Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, automate and streamline our operations and processes, and build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.

A successful Engineer will be proactive, interactive, creative and flexible.

Responsibilities and Duties : Defining features, solution requirements and specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.

Describing the structure, characteristics, behavior, estimated budget and other aspects of software to project stakeholders.

Lead project specific workshops, as well as maintain regular face-to-face meetings and conference calls as necessary to ensure project success.

Share technical knowledge and skills throughout the department and Company by creating knowledge base articles, best practices documentation, and training materials.

Review and audit cloud environments deployed on Public Cloud Providers.

Automate manual efforts such as building, testing, and deploying Design tools for system monitoring and operations Design network, security and identity services in compliance with corporate Cloud governance and industry best practices.

Keep up to speed with industry best practices and trends in DevOps & Engineering Become an expert at serverless and containerized architectures Knowledge and experience with implementing highly available architectures with a focus on cost controls and security Mentor other DevOps engineers Required Qualifications : Deep analytical skills to understand how different parts of the business work together as well as tech specifics, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines with a significant workload in high-ambiguity, high-volatility environments that demand adaptability and a strong sense of urgency.

Advanced critical-thinking, problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail and ability to think in systems.

Ability to maintain a professional, positive, “can-do” attitude, poise under intense pressure to perform with extreme reliability.

Strong presentation, meeting facilitation, and communication skills in English across geographies, cultures, and time zones.

10 or more years of related work experience 6 or more years of hands-on operational, DevOps or production services experience Coding   and scripting experience (Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or similar) Solid understanding of Linux and networking concepts Solid understanding of cloud infrastructures (AWS or equivalent) Understanding of source control management (git) Understanding of observability concepts Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience Additional Qualifications : Experience maintaining infrastructure as code (AWS CloudFormation or similar) Experience with AWS serverless solutions (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc) with test automation and test driven development Familiarity with continuous integration / continuous deployment (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CircleCI, etc) Experience working with geographically distributed teams Languages other than English are a bonus By submitting this form, I agree to the processing of my personal data for the purpose of processing my job application and replying to my request, in compliance with Verimatrix’s privacy notice Powered by JazzHR
