Role
This role is responsible for the development and deployment of highly optimised ML models on constrained embedded hardware, including :Designing and implementing TinyML models for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, custom accelerators)Building real-time inference pipelines for sensor processing and situational awarenessApplying quantisation, pruning, and compression to meet strict memory and power targetsTranslating research insights into deployable embedded ML solutionsConducting hardware–software co-design to maximise system performanceDeveloping automated training, conversion, and deployment workflowsExperience
3+ years of experience in embedded systems (C / C++, Python)Expertise in TinyML frameworks (TensorFlow Lite Micro, CMSIS-NN, uTensor, Edge Impulse)Strong ML fundamentals and experience with model optimisation (INT8 / INT4 quantisation, pruning)Background with microcontrollers such as STM32, ESP32, or Nordic platformsExperience with embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Mbed OS)Comfortable in fast-moving, uncertain R&D environmentsFluent EnglishWilling to relocate and work on-site in central GermanyEligible based on specific international hiring / security constraintsIdeally coming from high-growth tech or startup environmentsWe are particularly interested in engineers who combine low-level embedded expertise with strong ML intuition, and who thrive in highly experimental deep-tech environments.
