As the Procurement Manager at LSS GmbH, you will play an integral role in ensuring that our cutting-edge projects are supplied with the best materials and services on time and within budget. As a link between different departments and reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing plans, and overseeing procurement processes to support the successful execution of our high-stakes missions. Your expertise will help streamline operations and drive cost efficiency, enabling our team to continue leading in the development of revolutionary space technologies.

Tasks

  • Serve as point of contact between Procurement and the project execution team to ensure clear communication and alignment on all procurement-related activities.
  • Lead all procurement activities across multiple ongoing projects at LSS, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and requirements.
  • Coordinate purchasing tasks for all projects, facilitate communication between project sub-teams, and report to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Develop and implement a sourcing strategy that aligns with project schedules, budget, and statutory requirements outlined in the EPCC contract. Create and manage project-specific procurement procedures and documentation.
  • Support project managers in monitoring and tracking procurement activities by reviewing key control documents such as milestone status reports, unpriced purchasing commitment reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure timely procurement, receipt, storage, and availability of materials and equipment to support construction schedules.
  • Create regular report documents and flag critical issues as soon as they arise.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to avoid delays and ensure the materials are properly maintained.
  • Using and operating within the ERP system, managing and developing it constantly.
  • Other duties as assigned and necessary.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a procurement-related role within technical, engineering, commercial, or project environments, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong project management and planning skills, capable of understanding complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Fluent in German and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven negotiating and facilitation skills, adept at reaching optimal agreements.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a deep understanding of strategic sourcing strategies and procurement processes.
  • Proactive, with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and excellent time management skills to handle deadlines and schedules.
  • Experienced in issuing and managing requisitions and purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial purchasing procedures, including negotiation aspects and contract law.
  • Skilled in IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, and project planning / scheduling software as well as ERP-Systems.
  • Strong engineering understanding along with experience working in the Space / Aerospace sectors in Europe and QMS knowledge are highly desirable.
