Pre-sales Engineer
The Pre-Sales Engineer (PSE) supports sales productivity and deal flow by securing the technical close in complex solutions.
The PSE collaborates with sales, service, and technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers.
Provide a technical demo of Sunbird DCIM software to potential clients. Manage multiple proof of concepts and understand the Sunbird POC process.
Own Technical responses to sales team : Pre-Sales SE should be the first stop for all technical questions posed by the sales team.
Technical RFP responses : SE should manage technical responses on RFP’s and work with RFP teams toward successful accurate completion.
Customer conversion : SE should help convert and initially scope customer projects for the services and support team. Maintain Sunbird CRM, currently HubSpot, to update POCs being managed.
Supporting DACH region. Responsibilities : Provide presales technical support, work deals assigned to the sales team supported, prioritizing effort based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit, or as directed by management.
Assist with product positioning and qualification; assist sales team with customer facing calls & presentations (travel as required).
Analyze the needs of the Sales teams and create supporting documentation and processes to identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.
Collaborate with the sales team to ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and advanced. Stay current with new technologies and innovations and recommend adoption of new technologies.
Stay current with competitive offerings and recommend positioning / tactics to defeat competitors. Assist service / support team maintaining lab equipment for Demos and Training.
Represent Sunbird at relevant industry events. Host online training session for clients and partners to maintain up-to-date knowledge of Sunbird’s software suite enhancements.
Act as a Field Engineer and point of contact in DCIM projects and coordinate with services team to deliver the project on a timely manner.
Skills / qualifications : Minimum two years of sales engineering experience in a business-to-business, large / strategic customer segment A record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable sales role.
Product certification, engineering credential, or equivalent technical credential. Nice to have experience of common Data Center management issues, DCIM experience or IT operational experience.
Excellent organizational, communication and customer facing skills. Ability to speak English and German is required, ability to speak French is a plus.
