About the Role : They are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Data Engineering Manager to join a team focussed on a new product.

As a key leader, you will work with global peers across various product portfolio areas, including product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back / front-end engineering teams.

You will be instrumental in the continued enhancement and development of their multi-component platform, where your technical expertise in designing and building high-quality systems will intersect with your leadership skills in cultivating a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the engineering team in developing features and improvements for the product using technologies like Python and the AWS Data Analytics Suite.
• Analyze complex data and provide actionable recommendations at both team and cross-team levels.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Co-create the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
• Solve complex technical problems with significant scope, guiding the team in best practices for high-scale systems environments.
• Own the delivery of complex features and improvements with minimal guidance.
• Lead by example and mentor engineers, fostering their career growth and professional development.

About You :

• Experience : 7+ years in engineering with 3-5 years in data infrastructure development. Strong background in handling performance and optimization challenges, particularly with high-volume data processing in batch and streaming modes.
• Technical Expertise : Proficiency in data infrastructure architecture patterns, data mining, OLAP, ETL, complex SQL queries, and performance tuning.

Experience with Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Spark, Trino, dbt, Flink, and AWS Data Suite tools like Glue, Athena, QuickSight, and Redshift.

Additional experience with languages like C#, C++, Go, or Rust is a plus.

• Cloud Computing : Expertise in cloud computing environments, especially AWS serverless architectures.
• Leadership : Proven ability to lead engineering teams in delivering production-quality products, with a focus on stakeholder adoption and developer experience.
• Documentation Skills : Strong technical documentation skills, including the C4 Model and Architectural Decision Records.
• Test Driven Development : Proficiency in applying TDD principles effectively.
