We are looking for an Accumulation Data Engineer in Accumulation and Catastrophe Risk Management (m / f / d) based in Munich.

Join our dynamic Accumulation & Catastrophe Risk Management team as a CAT Data Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our data operations. The Impact You Will Have

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Accumulation Steering, your team, and other key data functions to develop and improve the data capabilities and pipelines across various Lines of Business (LOBs) and regions within Allianz Commercial. Your primary focus will be on accumulation steering, which involves managing and optimizing risk aggregation and exposure. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data solutions that enable effective accumulation analysis, ensuring that data is accurately collected, processed, and utilized to support strategic decision-making.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include :

Be responsible for maintaining and developing robust and scalable CAT data pipelines, ensuring efficient and effective data management

Co-develop holistic solutions that bring together data from various systems with different granularity

Develop new data ingestion within our Cloud based platform to ensure that CAT data can be leveraged

Optimize processes between data systems where primary identifiers are partially missing to increase value of data ( e.g. fuzzy match logic)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement advanced data analytics and visualization tools, enabling comprehensive insights into catastrophe risk patterns and trends for informed decision-making

What You’ll Bring to the Role

University degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering

Srong experience in a data-focused role, preferably within the P&C insurance sector, with collaboration experience in Accumulation & Catastrophe Risk Management or underwriting functions being advantageous

Proficiency in developing data pipelines, coding in Python and SQL, and understanding of Databricks and Apache Spark for data engineering and big data processing

Experience with cloud platforms like Azure for scalable data management and creating dashboards using Power BI, along with familiarity with source control methodologies like GIT

A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essentia l

Desirable experience with RMS and VeRisk software, with certification preferred but not mandatory

Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working independently, with strong communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and apply innovative thinking to problem-solving, with a keen interest in learning more about (re)insurance and accumulation steering enablement

Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
