You have expertise in automation systems as well as software systems You are passionate about technologies and concepts around automation engineering industrial ecosystems and digital twins You would like to apply and extend your knowledge in an interesting and agile research environment You are excited to contribute to a leading global technology company that drives the transformation of industry and society to achieve a more sustainable future Then join our team of highly motivated researchers in our ABB Research Center in Mannheim and help shape the foundations of tomorrows ABB offerings.

In our ABB Research Center Germany you will develop pioneering software technologies that enable future ABB products in automation and electrification businesses for a more sustainable world. You will collaborate at the intersection of industrial research and academia working with partners across the globe.

• Initiate lead and contribute to applied research and technology transfer projects in collaboration with international ABB divisions product development teams customers partners and academic institutions.
• Continuously scout and adapt emerging technologies in automation systems engineering tools Industry 4.0 and digital twin ecosystems.
• Apply your expertise in automation and software engineering to industrial systems.
• Build prototypes to validate concepts and effectively communicate your work within ABB to customers and at scientific conferences.
• Protect intellectual property through patent applications and contribute to scientific publications.
• Actively develop your technical and interpersonal skills to advance your career.
