We are currently supporting a Global Leading Tier 1 Automotive Supplier seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director for Europe to join a dynamic and fast-growing automotive organization.
This role is critical in shaping the people strategy, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring compliance with regional labour regulations across multiple European countries. As a key member of the leadership team, the HR Director will collaborate with global and regional executives to align HR practices with business objectives, driving employee engagement, operational excellence, and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy for the European region, aligned with global objectives and local market needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on all HR-related matters, including workforce planning, organizational design, and talent management.
Talent Acquisition and Retention :
Oversee recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the automotive industry, ensuring diversity and inclusion in hiring practices.Develop retention initiatives to foster employee satisfaction and reduce turnover.Employee Relations and Compliance :
Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations across European markets, mitigating risks and maintaining compliance.Lead conflict resolution, employee relations, and disciplinary actions with fairness and transparency.Performance Management and Development :
Implement performance management frameworks to promote accountability and excellence.Design and execute leadership development programs and succession planning initiatives to build a strong talent pipeline.Culture and Engagement :
Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects company values and supports employee engagement.Conduct employee engagement surveys and implement actionable insights to enhance the employee experience.Compensation and Benefits :
Oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs tailored to local markets while maintaining alignment with global standards.Ensure equitable and fair pay practices across all roles and locations.Change Management :
Support organizational change initiatives, such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.Provide expertise in managing the human impact of technological advancements and industry shifts.HR Operations and Reporting :
Lead the standardization and optimization of HR processes and systems across the region.Monitor and report on HR metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of people strategies and drive continuous improvement.Experience :
Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including roles within the automotive or manufacturing sectors.Proven track record of managing HR operations across multiple European countries.Experience in working within a matrixed, global organization is highly desirable.Skills :
Strong knowledge of European labour laws and regulations.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically.Proficiency in HR technology systems and data analytics.Multilingual capabilities (e.g., English and other European languages) are advantageous.
