Metric Search have been exclusively retained by a VC-backed start-up that is developing a failure analysis & incident response SaaS platform in collaboration with a German automotive OEM.

To support further co-development & integration they are seeking to hire a Forward Deployed Engineer / Field Solutions Architect who will be responsible for working on-site with the German OEM to understand their greatest problems and design new, bespoke solutions that can integrate with their internal systems & be used for their unique use cases.

This role will operate as a "mini-CTO" & requires a unique mix of customer facing skills, software expertise & domain understanding to be capable of owning and managing the end-to-end execution of complex software products.

Frontend : React or Typescript
Backend : Node.js, Typescript, Lambda
Data Pipelines : Python, Apache Airflow, dbt, Alembic, Dagster
Data Storage : Redshift, PostgreSQL, Athena, DynamoDb, ElasticSearch, Valkey
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps : AWS, Terraform, Serverless, Pulumi, Kubernetes, Docker

The above is the extensive Tech Stack utilized, we are specifically seeking an individual with a strong background in Python, full-stack TypeScript or JavaScript, REST APIs and the development, optimization & maintenance of large-scale data pipelines.

We're looking for someone who has :

Bachelor's or a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related degree

2-8 years of professional experience in full-stack software development or Data Engineering

Experience interacting with end-customers as an application engineer or a developer

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, globally dispersed teams

Affinity to work up in a dynamic start-up culture where no day will be the same

A willingness to be on-site in Stuttgart as required

Base salary up to €140,000 (dependent on experience)

As a trusted technical advisor & key interface with the client, this role requires a regular on-site presence at the client site in Stuttgart
