At CARIAD, we're bundling and further expanding the Volkswagen Group's software expertise. We’re uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud.

Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.

Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.

YOUR TEAM

Within the department for Hardware Purchasing we are looking for a dynamic and curious new colleague who is ready to shape the future of automotive radar solutions.

In doing so you will be taking over the global purchasing lead function for automotive radar systems for the entire Volkswagen Group.

At CARIAD purchasing we focus on value adding partnerships instead of traditional supplier-customer-relationships with our Tier-1 partners.

Having that in mind, you will be in charge of combining your market intelligence and supplier know how together with the strategic perspectives from our semiconductor and software teams into best-in-class products which power of the next generation short-, mid and long range radars.

Those are an essential element of our autonomous and assisted driving functions that means you will be a key element in defining the driving experience of tomorrow for Audi, Porsche and VW cars.

Our international team of 8 people features various professional backgrounds from industries like automotive, electronic component production and semiconductor design.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Conducting supply market research and strategic supplier development for Radar, Imaging Radar and Ultrasonic Solutions
• Managing the Radar business portfolio end-to-end : i.e. RFQs, Supplier Readiness & Series purchasing
• Defining mid- and long-term supply strategies
• Carrying out price and contract negotiations
• Coordinating the interface between supplier partners and internal stakeholders
• Collaborating in x-functional project teams including R&D, quality assurance, finance etc.

WHO YOU ARE

• Successfully completed degree in business administration, economics, informatics or engineering
• Strong track record in electronics purchasing (several years of experience)
• Ability to work well under pressure and to handle stressful situations
• Analytical and numerical mind with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Fluent English language skills and readiness for occasional business travelling
