YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES As part of the System Development team, you will contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of advanced microscopy systems, ensuring seamless integration of all components and reliable overall system performance. Your responsibilities include the conception, development, and enhancement of our core technologies (e.g., acousto-optics, detection modules, lasers, and scanning technologies). You will take a leading role in shaping the overall architecture of future confocal microscopy platforms, assuming the functional lead of project-specific development teams and making sure to meet quality, economical and technical requirements of the project. Part of your role is to monitor market trends and scientific developments to identify new and relevant technologies. By building and characterizing laboratory prototypes, you will evaluate promising new technologies and concepts. Help safeguard our competitive edge by actively collaborating with the IP department to protect our innovations. YOUR PROFILE You hold a degree in physics, engineering, or another relevant discipline, ideally with a Ph.D. or initial experience in project work and industrial research and development. You have expertise in the core technologies of confocal microscopy (acousto-optics, detectors, lasers, and scanning modules) and can apply them confidently. Practical experience with advanced microscopy methods such as STED or multiphoton microscopy is an advantage. You work independently in a structured manner when analyzing and solving problems. You have experience in project and team collaboration within interdisciplinary and intercultural environments and possess an understanding of economic relationships and dependencies. You are a motivated and open-minded individual with a strong desire to learn and grow. You have fluent command of English and, ideally, German, and can apply these skills effectively.
