Senior Java Software Engineer | Berlin | €95k

My client is a rapidly expanding healthcare technology company revolutionizing patient care and healthcare management! They aim to make medical systems more efficient, scalable, and patient-centric.

To support their mission, they are seeking a skilled Backend Java Developer to contribute to the development OF healthcare software solutions.

Please note that due to the requirements of this position you must have at least a C1 level in German speaking*

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring secure and scalable healthcare platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including medical professionals) to design, build, and enhance our healthcare management platform.
• Optimize backend systems for speed, security, and scalability, ensuring patient data is handled with the utmost care and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs , integrating them with both clinical applications and patient-facing systems.
• Participate in code reviews , promoting best practices and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA). ✔️
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues , providing timely fixes to ensure critical healthcare services remain operational. ️
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions , driving the development of secure and reliable backend services.

Requirements :

• 6+ years of experience as a Backend Java Developer in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate , with an emphasis on secure and efficient code.
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation, ensuring interoperability with electronic health records (EHR) and medical devices.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) for secure data management and storage.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI / CD pipelines to streamline healthcare app development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail, particularly in a healthcare setting where accuracy is critical.
• German & English fluent C1+

Nice-to-Haves :

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for hosting healthcare services securely. ️
• Familiarity with microservices architecture , allowing for scalable healthcare applications. ️
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization in regulated healthcare environments.
