Senior Finance Manager

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Finance Manager to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional with over 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) deep expertise in German GAAP and German Tax and ideally a strong background in manufacturing or the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry. The successful candidate will demonstrate gravitas attention to detail and strong presentation skills. They will act as a strategic finance business partner to senior stakeholders and lead continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance team fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive strategic finance business partnering with senior stakeholders to influence operational and financial performance.
• Ensure full compliance with German GAAP and German tax regulations including statutory accounts and tax filings.
• Oversee budgeting forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and impact.
• Enhance efficiency accuracy and transparency in financial reporting and cost accounting processes.
• Support financial period close activities including reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
• Provide financial support for project execution including planning tracking and reporting of project-related financial activities
• Collaborate with auditors tax advisors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Monitor and analyze key financial metrics and cost drivers to support decision-making.
• Champion process optimization and automation initiatives within the finance function.
• Lead and develop the local finance team
• Manage relationship with BPO

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Recognised qualification in accounting and / or tax (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter*in IHK Steuerberater*in or equivalent academic degree)
• Minimum 8 years PQE in finance roles including leadership experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of German GAAP and German tax compliance is a must
• Ideally proven experience in a manufacturing or pharma/life sciences environment.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively across cultures and time zones.
• Experienced managing Business Process Outsourcer (BPO)
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. IFS) and advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent in English and German language is absolutely essential C1/C2
