KG Organization Transformation of Industry Business Unit Compression Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As a Design Engineer (f / m / d) in Product Lifecycle Engineering, you will leverage your CAD expertise and problem-solving abilities to craft and develop product features that improve the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our centrifugal compressor fleet, specifically focusing on single-shaft compressors.

You'll serve as a technical advisor to the product management and production engineering teams, aiding in resolving design issues.

This global role offers you the opportunity to significantly influence the design of all heritage compressors across the TC fleet, for both new unit and service applications, thereby directly impacting the company’s performance targets and energy transition strategy. How You’ll Make an Impact

• Utilize CAD to model and layout design modifications of single-shaft compressors in support of modernization of R&D solutions or other product improvement initiatives
• Participate in the Product Develop Process (PDP) of R&D by contributing new development ideas, attending PDP gate reviews, and assisting the Product Management organization when needed in the implementation on new product solutions
• Provide mentorship to production engineering and technical field support teams to resolve technical issues in the compressor fleet
• Maintain a high-level of proficiency in mechanical design and compressor technology including state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities
• Train the TC Engineering organization on the design principles of single-shaft compressors

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
• 10+ years experience in design of rotating equipment with specific knowledge of centrifugal compressors. Preference for design experience with our compressor fleet : STC-SVm, STC-SV / SH, DATUM, or legacy products
• Highly skilled in applying NX to build 3D solid models, coupled with a strong comprehension of drafting standards for general dimensioning and tolerancing
• Experienced in implementing design for manufacture (DFM) principles to ensure that designs are optimized for cost, manufacturability, and functionality
• Able to challenge established norms in our design processes and standards
• Capable of simplifying and explaining sophisticated problems in a manner that is easily comprehensible to non-specialists
• Proficient in German and English with a willingness to travel domestically and internationally (
