Platform Engineer

The Opportunity :

As a platform engineer, you know that good software is more than just a nice-looking interface and data. You need code that bridges the gaps between software and hardware, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We’re looking for a platform engineer like you to develop efficient and effective software, from vision to production-ready system, in an exciting, agile environment.

As a platform engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll play a crucial role in advancing EUCOM's mission focusing on building and maintaining shared platforms that aggregate tools, services, workflows, and data used by engineers and technical teams across the organization. You’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver complete end-to-end solutions to your clients. Using your platform engineering expertise, you’ll analyze the environment to ensure that your team’s solutions consider the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You’ll sharpen your skills as you master new tools and techniques while helping to identify and implement system improvements.

You Have :

  • 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing the infrastructure an application will run on, selecting appropriate hardware and software components
  • Experience ensuring application reliability and performance, which involves troubleshooting and monitoring
  • Experience with Python or Java
  • Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
  • Experience building new test automation and tools for platform artifacts
  • Experience with DevOps practices, which combine automation and visualization to accelerate deployment, administration, and monitoring
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures and programming languages
  • TS / SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED and 11+ years of experience in platform engineering, Associate's degree and 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in platform engineering

Nice If You Have :

  • Experience with C#, C / C++, .NET, React, NodeJS, PHP, or Drupal
  • Experience with build and deploy tools such as Git VCS, Gradle, or Jenkins, and hands-on SQL or NoSQL
  • Master’s degree

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
