Flexibles Europe sits within the Flexibles Division of Berry Global Inc. a US listed company with an annual turnover of around $13bn and over 40,000 employees.
Working in the flexible packaging sector across a variety of markets we are looking for to an ambitious individual to support our Sustainability goals.
Reporting to VP and GM EU who is responsible for Sustainability, you will build close working relationships across our business. Within this role you will drive our sustainability roadmap by collaborating with our colleagues on related issues.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of plastic regulations and legislations is desirable
- Experience ideally from the one of the following areas : Net zero commitmentsLife cycle assessment toolsSupply chain sustainability or sustainable procurement
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Commercial awareness
- Communication skills that allow you to inform, help and advise
- Confidence, patience, tact, and diplomacy
- Creative thinking, to be able to produce ideas to improve sustainability awareness
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Organisational and planning skills
Responsibilities
Review sustainability related data to identify challenges and opportunitiesCollaborate with our commercial teams to improve our service level and position on sustainability mattersDrive projects and initiatives for both improvement in our products or operationsSupporting and directing improvements on our ESG score by working with the functional leadsOwns regulatory and compliance obligations on matters such as EPR and plastic tax scheme providing development plans to ensure Berry stays aheadReviewing suppliers approach to sustainability and liaising with the supply chain on improvementsWorking with our marketing team to ensure appropriate and accurate information is available to all stakeholdersEducating and advising our colleagues on sustainability compliance and initiativesAttending conferences or working groups to promote our sustainability positionfor Job Applicants
