Director of Product Operational Excellence
Job Description
WHAT WE DO IN PRODUCT OPERATIONS
The product operation team mission is to support the product teams (Product Managers, Product Designers ) in delivering the most valuable products by :
- enabling product teams to maximise their impact and base their decisions on insights
- driving operational excellence through best-in-class product development processes and tools
- organising product communications and rituals
- growing the teams' talent and engagement.
The product operation team is distributed in 3 different countries (Germany, France, Belgium) allowing us to keep the pulse from the team and understand where they need support.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN INDIVIDUAL WHO CAN :
As Director, your responsibility would be to define and oversee execution of the Product Operations strategy with the Senior Director of Product and Tech Operations.
Furthermore, you would be responsible to coordinate, mentor and support your team in the following areas :
PRACTICES & COMMUNICATION
- Own the creation and ongoing improvement of practices, processes, tools, and documentation standards, ensuring efficiency and also helping maintain their relevance and effectiveness, creating a foundation for continuous improvement and agility.
- Facilitating product cross-team collaboration through dedicated events and rituals (on premise / remote), tooling, or any other activities in collaboration with other teams.
- Explore strategies to expose our plans, documentation, communication and demos in the most effective way. Enhancing the accessibility and ensuring information is easily digestible and understandable for all stakeholders.
STRATEGY & PLANNING
- Establish an efficient planning process, aligned with the org, ensuring a seamless translation of company objectives into a tangible roadmap, fostering clarity and alignment across all teams.
- Enhance our approach to tracking features and handling enhancement requests, improving our efficiency but also promoting better collaboration and transparency, leading to more successful product development cycles.
- Empower Product Managers with robust data, while ensuring data integrity and organisation. This support enables better product decisions, contributing to the overall success of our products.
TOOLING
Explore the utilization of available tools for roadmapping, planning, and feature tracking activities as an opportunity to enhance our capabilities, improving overall efficiency and accuracy in our product development processes.
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT CRAFT
- Actively supporting product teams to implement new skills and product management best practices (framework and methodology application, retrospectives, continuous improvement).
- Striving to continuously raise the bar of product management excellence.
- Supporting product onboarding program (in collaboration with People team).
ADDITIONAL LEADERSHIP PRODUCT OPS DUTIES
- Lead the Product Operations function on a day-to-day basis and build strong relationships with key stakeholders (including C-level) at both central and regional levels, influencing their decisions and achieving company goals"
- Act as a central point of contact between the Product organisation and its global stakeholders
- Identify and act on system-wide patterns creating operational challenges and then prioritize and orchestrate the work needed to solve them
Qualifications
AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS :
- Manager with 7+ years experience in product management, with significant exposure / experience in (strategic company) product planning and 5+ years in product operations or similar function across a large international and diverse product and tech organisation (+)
- Deep understanding of product management best practices and frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for process improvement.
- Comfortable working with unknowns and shifting priorities
- Comfortable with, and experienced in coaching other product managers
- Able to work on high-level initiatives as well as do deep into the day-to-day operations
- Collaborative and open to new ideas
- English fluent (french, german or dutch is a plus)
