SAP CO Lead Consultant

Key Responsibilities

Explore Phase Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead workshops to gather CO-related local requirements and validate against the global template.

• Support detailed fit-gap analysis focusing on CO data structures technical design elements and process deviations.

• Collaborate with global process leads to finalize CO functional and technical specifications.

• Advise on S/4HANA CO master data setup (cost centers profit centers statistical objects etc.).

Realize Phase Responsibilities

• Perform technical configuration and support functional configuration for CO sub-modules (Cost Center Accounting Profit Center Accounting Internal Orders Product Costing CO-PA).

• Lead or support CO-related RICEFW design including specifications logic detailing testing and validation.

• Work closely with ABAP developers integration teams and data migration teams to ensure high-quality technical delivery.

• Drive testing cycles-prepare test cases support SIT/UAT validate integrations between FI CO MM SD PP.

• Oversee data migration activities for CO master and transactional data (cost centers internal orders activity types costing variants PA segments profitability characteristics).

• Support cutover planning technical readiness checks and pre go-live activities.

General Responsibilities

• Act as the CO technical lead and primary contact for CO-related solution components in the rollout.

• Ensure adherence to the global template while managing EU/Germany-specific technical and functional requirements.

• Provide guidance on S/4HANA CO best practices Universal Journal implications and technical simplification items.

• Coordinate closely with FI MM SD and PP teams on cross-functional design impacts.

• Contribute to documentation governance compliance and quality assurance of deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 12 years of SAP CO experience with strong technical expertise in S/4HANA.

• Hands-on experience in CO configuration plus solid understanding of underlying technical components (tables data models enhancements).

• Strong background in:

  • Cost Center & Profit Center Accounting

  • Internal Orders

  • Product Costing (costing variants BOM/routing integration overheads WIP/variance)

  • Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) especially S/4HANA Margin Analysis

• Experience in Explore and Realize phases within SAP Activate methodology.

• Strong experience in RICEFW design ABAP interaction and functional-technical bridging.

• Experience with data migration tools and methodologies (LTMC Migration Cockpit BAPIs etc.).

• Deep understanding of ACDOCA S/4HANA data models and integration points with FI MM SD PP.

• Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.

• Excellent communication skills; ability to work with both business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in global rollout or multi-country deployment projects.

• SAP S/4HANA Controlling Certification preferred.

• Exposure to Group Reporting or Central Finance is a plus.

• German language proficiency is beneficial; English is mandatory.
