Hauptaufgaben

As a Wire Communications Equipment Installer installs, rehabilitates, modifies, and adjusts wire communications equipment such as telegraph and teletype equipment, intercom, and public address systems, alarm and signaling systems, and wire carrier equipment. Installs and repairs inside wiring, and connects equipment to outside service wires.

Is engaged in the installation of main and secondary cable distributors, cable distribution boxes, cable terminals and subscriber stations (e. g. telephones and intercommunication stations) following work orders, cable plans and diagrams, as well as drawings, and installation and repair instructions. Installs small, transportable telephone exchange facilities and connects field telephones. Tests lead, plastic and field cables as well as distribution boxes and equipment, and determines electrical and mechanical faults and damages. Marks the defective parts, prepares the necessary test documents and forwards them to supervisor. Receives materials and installs them in a proper manner.

Works on projects of aerial and buried cable line installation, cable installation and relocation in ducts and buildings, and temporary and permanent field cable lines; and performs maintenance and rehabilitation of these installations. Assists in the setting up and dismantling of material depots and bivouacs, as required. Instructs personnel in lower grades in the technical requirements of the job orders, and, if required, assists in familiarization training of newly instated personnel. In the performance of assigned tasks, operates various kinds of power tools. Depending on operational requirements, operates motor vehicles to transport personnel and material to, from and between project sites, requiring the incumbent to possess the appropriate German drivers licenses and US military drivers licenses.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationsanforderungen

A4-2501-04 :

Completed vocational training of at least 21 months in the appropriate trade.

Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 21 Monaten.

OR / ODER

3 years of specialized experience.

3 Jahre einschlaegige Berufserfahrung.

• Führerschein Klasse B erforderlich /

German driver's class B required.

German driver's class C desired.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL :

Englischlevel A1 und Deutschlevel C1 erforderlich. /
