OURIMPACT

Our division prevents,detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational riskacross the firm and helps to strengthen the firm's culture ofcompliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm'senterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As anindependent control function and part of the firm's second line ofdefense, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory andreputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amendedlaws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls,policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing;investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks andbreaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatoryexaminations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team withmembers from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds,such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those whopossess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to achanging regulatorylandscape.

YOURIMPACT

The role we are recruiting for is inthe Regulatory Affairs team of the Compliance function based inFrankfurt providing coverage for Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE(GSBE) and its European branches. This role will support the ChiefCompliance Officer in maintaining the Compliance program for theactivity of GSBE and support with the core Compliance functiontasks as required by MaComp and MaRisk. This covers a broadspectrum of responsibilities which comprise but are not limited tothebelow :

Responsibilities :

  • ManageCompliance input for regular and ad-hoc regulatoryaudits
  • Provide advise to the Global Marketsbusiness in relation to audit requests based, in particular, onMaComp and MaRisk
  • Manage key Compliancecontrols in line with BaFin requirements (in particular MaComp,MaRisk) for foreign branches
  • Coordinate auditinput and related controls across thebranches

Experience / Skills :

  • Universitydegree
  • 5+ years' Compliance or other relevantfinancial services experience.
  • Strong knowledgeof the European regulatory environment and of BaFin rules coveredin the audits is key (e.g. MiFID2, MAR, MaCompetc.)
  • Any knowledge of other local regulatoryregimes (in Europe or globally) is anadvantage
  • Global Markets business & productknowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills andeffective written / oral communicationskills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability tomultitask, organize and prioritize
  • Fluent inEnglish and German. Additional (European) languages are anadvantage
