Hauptaufgaben

Checks incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and conformance with established transportation procedures and requirements.

Inbound Shipments processing : Ensures that incoming cargo shipped by different mode of transportation (trailers, containers, trucks and rail cars) is properly sealed and documented. Compares data on receiving documents with cargo identification to insure correctness and conformity. In case of missing inbound documentation, prepares data to be printed on shipping labels such as consignee, weight, cube, number pieces, stock number etc. and initiates preparation of Transportation Control and Movement Document (TCMD) accordingly. Ensures Customs Transit form 302 is present for transportation movements that have crossed international borders. Checks form for accuracy and completeness. Notes discrepancies in identification of and damages to items and reports same to inspector for clarification. Reports shortages and / or overages of inbound shipments and annotates TCMD to have an accurate tally of shipments received. Applies knowledge of established coding system in identifying data contained in transportation documents received; according to consignee involved directs cargo to consignee's holding bays for storage and subsequent forwarding of cargo to ultimate destination. Files transportation documentation IAW applicable regulations. Assists in research of transportation discrepancies.

Outbound Shipment processing : Locates outbound cargo stored in consignee's holding areas. Identifies cargo by ensuring that data on document such as material number, destination etc. match data on cargo. Initiates segregation of freight by consignee and coordinates appropriate loading. Assures adherence to proper labeling, addressing and special shipment procedures (i.e. special handling signs, labels for hazardous and fragile material). Ensures proper loading, stowing, blocking and bracing of shipments and observes that multi-stop cargo is loaded in proper off-loading sequence. Contacts shipping personnel in case cargo can't be located, wrong labels are used and seeks clarification. Prepares loading list considering the different modes of transportation involved by annotating required data i.e. consignee, quantity, and cube. Verifies accuracy and conformity with cargo actually loaded on transportation assets. Ensures Customs Transit form 302 is present for transportation movements that will cross international borders. Checks form for accuracy and completeness. Files transportation documentation IAW applicable regulations. Assists in research of transportation discrepancies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

E&T Level I : 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below.

Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.

E&T Level II : 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below.

E&T Level II : 1 Jahr anrechenbare Erfahrung, wie beschrieben unter A.

E&T Level III and above : No additional experience required.

E&T Level III und hoeher : Keine zusaetzlich Erfahrung erforderlich.

Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.

Innerbetriebliche Arbeitnehmer, die bereits 1 Jahr im gleichen oder aehnlichen Taetigkeitsbereich beschaeftigt sind, qualifizieren fuer den naechst hoeheren Bezahlungsgrad.

Experience A : Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.

Erfahrung A : Allgemeine Buerotaetigkeit z. B. Computeranwendung, Buchfuehrung, Inventuren, Telefon- oder Organisationsarbeit oder Kassierertaetigkeit.

• Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Büroanwenderprogrammen erforderlich. / Office automation skills are required.
• Führerschein Klasse B wünschenswert. / German driver's license class B desired.

SPRACHKENNTNISSE : /

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL :

Englischlevel B1 UND Deutschlevel C1 erforderlich. /

English Language Proficiency level B1 AND German Language Proficiency level C1 required.

Beschäftigungsbedingungen

Es handelt sich um eine unbefristete Vollzeitstelle (38.5 Std. / Woche). / This is a permanent fulltime position (38.5 hrs. / week).

If requirement exists, the incumbent of this position is obligated to perform TDY within and outside Germany, shift work, weekend and holiday work.
