We are hiring an Account Executive to spearhead growth across a portfolio of engaged Enterprise customers in the German market.
These customers have embarked on their cloud journey with AWS and require strategic guidance to accelerate their cloud migrations.
As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for complex account management, fostering C-Level and Board-level relationships, and driving the adoption of current and new AWS services.
In this quota-carrying role, you will leverage your sales and technical expertise to work proactively with customers, identifying opportunities to accelerate their cloud transformation.
You will harness the power of AWS's innovative services and engage internal resources to execute on our customers' strategic objectives, enabling them to adapt to evolving market trends.
This role demands a forward-thinking mindset, a relentless drive to uncover new opportunities, and a proven track record of using technology to deliver impactful solutions for customers.
You will be part of a verticalized team focused on key industries such as Manufacturing, Retail, Travel & Transport, Power & Utilities, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Media & Entertainment, and Financial Services.
As an Account Executive, your responsibilities will include territory planning, forecasting, and managing the full sales cycle.
You will develop and execute account strategies, manage pipelines, and drive revenue growth within your assigned accounts.
Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Solutions Architects and Professional Services, to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success.
AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute account strategies to drive revenue growth and cloud adoption within your assigned accounts
- Manage the full sales cycle, including territory planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and opportunity pursuit
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with C-Level executives and decision-makers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Solutions Architects and Professional Services, to deliver comprehensive solutions
- Understand customer business objectives and requirements, and position AWS services to address their needs
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and new prospects
- Manage contract negotiations and ensure successful deal closure
- Provide exceptional customer experiences and drive customer satisfaction

As part of our centralized sales team in the heart of Munich, you'll experience a dynamic and collaborative environment. Your days involve strategizing with colleagues, leveraging video conferencing to connect with customers, and driving impactful conversations.
Face-to-face collaboration within your tight-knit team is key, enabling you to tackle complex deals and large-scale initiatives.
Our state-of-the-art office facilitates seamless teamwork and knowledge sharing, while ongoing training keeps you ahead of the curve in the cloud landscape.
For instance, we already use Generative AI in our day-to-day to increase efficacy and focus on value-adding tasks. You'll thrive in this high-energy, scale-driven environment focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Different to many sales roles, travel is only expected at about 10% or less of your working time.
About the team
You'll be part of a high-performing team that follows the Amazon "two-pizza team" principle, enabling innovation and speed.
On average, we work together from our Munich office at least three days a week, fostering collaboration and teamwork. We also provide flexibility, with the possibility to 'work from anywhere' for several weeks during the year.
When needed, we meet customers face-to-face, often leveraging our co-working space to host them onsite. We enjoy our team culture, with activities like Team Days, occasional joint lunches, and dinners, and respect individual boundaries and strive to maintain a healthy work-life integration.
We are an EMEA-wide function, often working with our colleagues in Madrid, London and Tel Aviv to share knowledge and best practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of existing and developing technologies
- Experience in technical sales for B2B or in solution-sales / technology-related environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- AWS Certification (Cloud Technologist, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer)
- Experience in engineering, computer science, or MIS
