Data Engineer (f / m / d)

As a Data Engineer (f / m / d) in the Investment Technology area, you will be primarily responsible for the design and development of full-stack Investment data solutions integrated with GenAI and Machine Learning applications. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders and domain experts to understand business & data needs and translate them into technical requirements for delivery.

You will help drive big data solutions and AI adoption by designing and developing investment research and decision support solutions to further enhance our data-driven investment process for AllianzGI’s global investment management function.

This position will be based in Frankfurt or Munich .

What you will do

• Design and engineer scalable data platforms for structured and unstructured investment
• Develop and manage data pipelines for market / reference and alternative data integration
• Design and engineer schemas and data solutions for quantitative investment research
• Integration of the above into AllianzGI’s AI stack and contribute to its continuous development
• Design, build, monitor and enhance AI-backed solutions that simplify workflows along the investment process value chain
• Act as a data architect in the team, setting direction on technical design and data model integrity, ensuring compliance with performance, security, and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with subject matter experts, architects, analysts and governance teams across functions
• Engage regularly with investment teams to understand and capture business and data requirements as well as gathering feedback, resolve issues, and align backend solutions with evolving business needs
• Support Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations including platform monitoring, issue resolution, and regular health checks
• Stay updated on innovative methods, new technologies and tools in the market, that can improve the efficiency, security, maintenance, and scalability of our platform
