We invite you tojoin us on a critical and exciting mission! Your job will be to bethe technical expert tasked with establishing smart pricing modelsand policies for all OLX customer units (Motors, Real Estate,Goods, Jobs, and Services). Pricing that is fair for the customers,proportional to the market value we deliver, and that works forOLX. This is a unique opportunity! You will be part of a strategicmovement inside the company, working in an area with a verysignificant business impact!

Your job will beto provide technical guidance to a team of Product, Commercial, andData Science experts working in the areas of pricing and pricingoptimization. You will be responsible for fueling the team withtechnical inspiration and mentoring the team members to explore thenewest technologies in Causal Inference and Decision Science whiledelivering business value. You will be exposed to key stakeholders,and you will have direct contact with internal customers. You willhave the freedom to design experiments across different lines ofbusiness and test things. Most importantly, you will also witnesshow your work impacts the day-to-day business and the growth ofOLX.

Finally, you will be a mentor and athought leader for the practice of Data Science and Analyticsacross the organizations that constitute OLX, finding opportunitiesto have an impact not only for the business and our users but alsofor the community of Data Scientists spread across ourhubs.

What you will bedoing :

  • Work in theData Science team, focusing on Pricing Optimization, from aplatform and marketplace perspective.
  • Leadingprojects and initiatives in collaboration with local Data Scienceand Data Engineering teams, as well as Product and Commercialleaders.
  • Maintain strong relationships withstakeholders by asking questions to commercial teams andtranslating their requirements into achievableprojects.
  • Collaborate with Product Analytics totrack the KPIs of different ML use cases and measure the impact onour customers.
  • Partner with the Experimentationteam to integrate the KPIs and their proxies into theExperimentation (A / B testing) platform.
  • Helpformulate data science solutions to improve business jointly withproduct managers and engineers.
  • Ensuresuccessful achievement of research and development objectivesthrough stakeholder management and mentoring of junior DataScientists.
  • Optimize models according tospecific use case requirements and collaborate with team members tobring machine learning solutions to production andscale.
  • Measure the impact of your modelsagainst company goals.
  • Work in an agileenvironment to deliver high-quality software againstschedules.
  • Work in multi-functional teams, in adiverse, multinational environment.

Who are welooking for :

  • Verystrong analytical skills. Decision Science is your bread andbutter.
  • Experience in Pricing and Pricingoptimization in a commercial setting.
  • Knowledgeof Causal Inference and strong statistical skills (e.g., design ofexperiments and hypothesis testing).
  • Ability tolead cross-functional initiatives that drive scalableimpact.
  • Proactively identify opportunities forimpact in multiple domains and collaborate with multipleteams.
  • Ability to envision the future andarticulate it to a broad community of Product and Commercialleaders as well as other key stakeholders.
  • Adeep understanding of machine learning techniques and experienceapplying them to solve business problems.
  • Trackrecord in leading cross-functional initiatives that span theorganization.
  • A strong engineering backgroundwith good knowledge of Python and exposure to another programminglanguage (Kotlin, Java, etc.), as well as engineering bestpractices.
  • Experience writing SQL queries andhandling large amounts of data.
  • Proficient inEnglish with excellent written and oral communicationskills.
  • Strong presentationskills.
  • Able to work in diverse,multi-functional teams with people from differentbackgrounds.

    • Nice tohave :

  • Experience withcloud-based tools for production use (e.g., AWS Athena, AWSSagemaker, AWS Spectrum, AWS Kinesis) orequivalent.
  • Experience building large-scalebatch and real-time data pipelines with open-source data processingframeworks like Spark.
  • Experience withplatforms for programmatically authoring, scheduling, andmonitoring workflows (e.g. ApacheAirflow).
  • Experience driving initiatives suchas Tech Radar for Data Science and interacting with external groups(e.g. Amazon ML Solutions Lab or similar) to formulate and progressthe Data Science Techagenda.
