About the role
As a Legal Counsel, you play a key role in supporting Riverty’ s business and the entire company in various legal affairs.
The entire Riverty legal community consists of about 25+ lawyers with whom you will have a lot of regular interactions. The daily work will also entail close contact with other functions such as Product, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Operations.
Riverty’ s organizational culture is international and low-hierarchical, prioritizing cooperation and open interaction between the teams, fostering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
You will join our team of lawyers from Germany, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands and report to our General Counsel for Invoicing & Payment.
Your primary responsibility will be to support our business in Germany, a role that is crucial to our operations in these regions.
What will be your challenges :
In this role, you will be involved in drafting, reviewing client contracts, supplier agreements and other relevant internal and external contracts.
Daily, your tasks will also include the following :
- Provide legal support, advice on a wide variety of topics, particularly in consumer law, business law, and contract law
- Give support to a wide range of internal stakeholders and act as sparring partner to the international Legal team.
- Advice the organization on possible legal impact in case of legislative changes or changes to the business model.
- Represent the organization in matters involving supervisory authorities.
What will help you to succeed in the role :
- An academic Master’s degree in law with 2-4 years of hands-on experience with German law.
- Experience within German financial topics and must have experience in with contract drafting in German.
- Excellent communication skills, legal and advisory skills with a commercial mindset.
- Ability to work independently, able to handle a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Goal- and result-oriented mindset with a risk based approach.
- Fluent in German and English.
