As the university of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the German Sport University Cologne is unique in Germany with its research spectrum and around 6,000 students. It is also one of the most renowned universities in its field internationally. The central operating unit for information technology (ze.IT) operates the university's IT infrastructure and IT applications, such as the HISinOne campus management system and the Pure research information system.

To strengthen our team in the central operating unit for information technology (ze.IT), we are looking to fill a full-time, permanent position in the IT applications department as a system administrator / interface developer on-premises, cloud and hybrid (f / m / d) with a regular weekly working time of currently 39 hours and 50 minutes as soon as possible

Your main tasks

Administration of the server operating systems (Linux and Windows)
Administration of the system landscape, consisting of web servers, application servers and database servers from different manufacturers
Connection, maintenance and further development of (web) interfaces between on-premises, cloud and hybrid applications
Monitoring of operations, performance evaluation, error analysis and troubleshooting
Collaboration with specialist departments and external service providers
Monitoring and managing implementation, change and integration projects

Your profile

Required are

A successfully completed university degree in the field of computer science or completed training in the IT sector

broad knowledge in the field of operational IT and the willingness to acquire expert knowledge in some sub-areas

Enjoy administering a complex IT system with diverse technical components

Business fluency in written and spoken German

Desirable are

Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas :

Support for redundant, complex system landscapes

Administration of Linux and Windows servers

Administration of web servers, application servers and database servers from different manufacturers

Administration of cloud and hybrid applications

Provision and use of web services

Integration of applications (on-premises, cloud and hybrid)
