Job Description:
GDIT has n opening for a Systems Engineer to support U.S. Army Europe as part of our EMITS program team in Wiesbaden Germany.
The Systems Engineer works with a team of Administrators, Engineers and Architects to build server and application architectures and the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software in a virtual data center. Maintains system security and establishes practices and procedures, monitors usage statistics from logs.
HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Develop baseline configurations and directs modification of configuration settings.
- Troubleshoot system related problems.
- Provide team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators.
- Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications.
- Recommend future direction or projects to team lead.
- Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance the technical footprint.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Security Clearance Required: Secret Level Security Clearance with SSBI/T5 clearance
- Experience: 8+ years of related Systems Engineering experience
- Skills: DoD systems hardening (STIG, ACAS); Windows Operating Systems; Working in a virtualized server environment; Server backup experience (snapshot, full, differential, incremental, retention policies); Microsoft server applications (i.e. Exchange, SharePoint); Powershell scripting; Understanding of multiple Operating Systems; Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience; Can create effective and clear documentation (EIP, Build Guides, TTP, etc.)
- Certifications: Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1; Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
